thats some lame shit... you gotta feel bad for those kids Yes Also: - Quote :
- words If they can get them to remember the proper answer the first time around, even if they originally missed several questions, they get an A. If they can't remember, they are given the questions they missed on the test on a pink sheet and told what part of the book to look over to get the answers, and then they retake the questions they missed. Then, if they still miss the questions, the process is repeated for those questions until the student finally memorizes the answers to all the qeustions they missed. Even if they missed 70% of the test the first time, then 40% of the questions the second time, then 20% the third, and finally get those right on the fourth try, they would still be given a B for that course. Now is that a dream come true for someone who wants a high GPA...to go to a school that you know the lowest grade you can make is a B.words.
This part is similar to what they do in Europe.

| The problem with these schools that cater to "self esteem" like Delphi Academy are three fold -
1) Memorizing the answers doesn't teach you the answers. Sorry, it's true.
2) The parents pay alot of money to the private institution for the kid to go there, so of course the little snowflake better be getting good grades or else it's the academy's fault (it's NEVER the fault of the parents or the kid) and then their funding gets killed. Then the school loses more students because usually people with that type of money to drop on a private school are fairly influental among other people who are in the same position.
3) The skills do nothing to prepare them for the real world. Sure, you might pull a 3.5+ GPA at Delphi, but once you get into college or a job where they say fuck-all to minimum requirements to make their money, you fall flat on your face. Chances are you end up working staff at an Org because nobody else will hire you or you flunk out of school or can't hold on to a job.
Granted, the third one is not just Applied Scholastics or Delphi, the same thing can be said about the No Child Left Behind programs. Instead of raising teaching standards, they lower the expectations so parents think "their children is learning." They even scrapped the High School exit exam here in California.
I took it for shits and giggles. Honestly? I could have passed it in 9th grade. | |

| They scraped it? They had barely made it a requirement when I was in high school. I was the first graduating class that needed it. Weird. | |
