| Two weeks ago, cult had a stress test table set up in Balboa Park. They told the cops they had the City Attorney's permission to be there and, rather than actually DO anything, the cop and the ranger just took their word for it. So I wrote the City Attorney's office. Here's the response: Dear Ms. Graham, Thank you for your email. I did some checking and the City Attorney's office wouldn't be the office to grant the approval. If approval was granted it would probably come from the San Diego City Parks and Recreation Department or Real Estate Assets Department. Contact information is listed on their web site at: http://www.sandiego.gov/Sincerely, San Diego City Attorney's Office | |

| well they did have approval, just not from the city attorney like they claimed..... unless that was a falsified permit they handed the cops, which in that case its super illegal! | |

| From the city web page: http://www.sandiego.gov/park-and-recreation/general-info/rulesgeneral.shtml# Solicitation of funds in public parks, playgrounds, beaches, tidelands, and other City property is prohibited [SDMC 63.0102(b) (14)]. # Sale of merchandise in public parks, playgrounds, beaches, tidelands and other City property is prohibited [SDMC 63.0102(b) (13)]. also, of interest are the requirements for an "entertainer" permit in Balboa Park. http://www.sandiego.gov/park-and-recreation/pdf/entertainerbrochure.pdf9. One sign no larger than “8.5 x 11” clearly stating “Donations accepted” must be displayed while on site, and is the responsibility of the permittee to supply one. One additional sign no larger than 24”x 36” may be displayed only to state the nature of the entertainment provided. We can win this! | |

| we can win this for sure and yes barb they gave the police/ranger a permit of some sort, which they looked at which is when they said that they had approval directly from the head of park services and the city attorney's office | |
