JUNE 14TH: OPERATION SEA ARRRRGH VITAL INFORMATION

Current plans for Sea Arrrrgh, with sugguested timeline for the protest to ensure maximum safety,
maximum effectiveness, and maximum fun. Thread will be updated as we come up to present time.

CURRENT PLANS ARE AS FOLLOWS, AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE:

11:00 AM: Meet at the fountain in front of Horton Plaza, same place we always do. A few members of Anon that have attended previous protests will address the group for the benefits of all involved, both first timers and veterans alike. The San Diego Police may be there, but given that
they weren't last time, this is still up in the air. This is important, as the information can protect you against Fair Game and avoids giving the CoS any ammunition to use against you.

11:15 AM: After the pleasantries, we march up 4th street to the protest location across the street from the CoS. Make sure that if you have the balls to stay on their side of the street, do nothing
to warrant aggression or undue attention from the police. Do not block their driveway for any reason, and make sure you do not step over the line from the public sidewalk onto the concrete in front of their
entranceway. This IS tresspassing and you WILL be arrested - it's what happened to Gregg in Boston.

To ensure no gray area regarding the tresspassing issue, do not approach
their storefront any closer than the bus stop - this gives you about
five feet before their property line. Not sure what this means? You'll
see when you get there, I promise.
Sing, dance, chant, DO WHAT YOU WANT 'CAUSE A PIRATE IS FREE, let them know we're there, and make sure to take LOTS of pictures of the hiding behind their banners trying to take photos of
us. The police will most likely be called at this point if they aren't escorting us, so be professional, polite, and courteous to them when they do show up.

12:00ish: March back down 4th to the main protest spot in front of Horton
as shown on the map. Get exposure, honk, and have a great time. DO NOT GO INTO THE PLAZA ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE NBC BUILDING OR INTO HORTON ITSELF, this is a big no no.

Take the group photo for posterity purposes, and spread out to the 8 main protest corners. Try to keep morale up with a boombox/music source and a fresh supply of flyers on every corner, we keep running out!

2:15 - 2:30ish - March time! This is AWESOME and we perfected it during FairGameStop. This
is great exposure, so it's a good idea to do it again! We split into two groups and we march down 4th Street to G, with one group on each side of the street. We always end up handing out info, then cut over to 5th and march back north eventually ending up back at the CoS. This should take roughly half an hour if that.

3:30 - Protest breaks, everyone scatters and heads back to their cars/trollies/buses. Be careful and make sure you aren't being followed.

Stuff to bring:

1) Face coverings of some sort - self explanitory, for fun and protection. The theme this month is Pirate based which may be a bit easier to pull off, given the heat...which brings us to...

2) WATER! It's going to be hot, and while several anons will be bringing water, STAY HYDRATED. Don't put your health at risk, ESPECIALLY IF YOU WEAR A SUIT. We'll have straws so people can drink through their masks without having to take them off.

3) SUNSCREEN - you don't want the
Guy Fawkes masks burned into your face.

4) Cash Money. We're going to be doing a collection fund to help out with the rather ambitious projects we have coming up for Comic-Con that will reach 100,000 people that the go home all over the globe. We have a few plans in the works but need help. I PROMISE that if we can pull off what we have in mind for CCI, it will be epic.

Another good reason for the cash is that it makes buying things easier with no paper trail, and avoids the hassle of trying to convince the cashier that they don't need to see your ID.Other cities have had CoS plants in coffee shops and restaraunts around the protest spots, so make sure to not take off your mask if you can't help it.

AWESOME! Alright, I'll keep up with KUSI, and whoever is going after NBC...yay!! Still other news teams to alert, and its important that the list of breaking news phone #s are at the protest so someone can call and be all "We're in your city, enturbulating your $cilons!". The more we keep bringing it up, the harder we become to ignore.

Anonymous knows when/where vans are needed, and "will deliver".

What I think we can do is do what we did last time on the 12th and put the sings on collapsable PVC Pipe set up and wave it on front of the scilons.

Thing is that Xenubarb was considering being our color guard by using the bike of Harley sporting out colors and playing escort to the party van. Any chance that if Xenu can scope a place out for us before hand, we could work the party van.

If we want to keep the funds to SDCC, I suggest then we pick up

EPIC PROFIT!

I just converted the "Sci-Commercial" to iPod format. If anyone has a iPod dock or an input jack for mp3 players, I can definitely plug this in and blast the org with this!

I will also pass out CD's to those that want them. If you guys just download it and have iTunes convert it, it can do it just fine. You need a video capable ipod, or you can convert it to an mp3 in quicktime or another program for just the audio.

I pledge two cases of water! Post here if you are bringing water. It's probably going to be VERY hot and dehydration is not fun. There won't be a party van to dump all the extra water into, but I'm bringing a luggage dolly to transport the extra water/fliers/boom box. Also bringing straws.

i can now say for a fact ill be there on the 14th with +1 in company.

Nearly without exception, you'll have better results and effectiveness with sober deliberation.

When extra-ordinary efforts are called for, your effort will go *much* farther, by being prepared in advance
than from panicking and rushing at the end to pull things together.

Looks like they won't need me to tomorrow morning so it looks like a go for me (although I will have to leave a bit early). Any advice on the best way to cover transportation from the south side??

im definately in for tomorrow. i left a note in my dept saying i couldnt make it in tomorrow so its all good. i went out and bought a pirates of the carribean sword just to show my pirate spirit since i couldnt find any good hats/eyepatches/etc.

Hmm I didn't get any weapons cause I assumed it would probably be one of those things that could cause problems.

I've got a cheap-o foam kid's sword. You know, like the Nerf swords they used to make back in the 80s. If it's a problem, well, it gets stowed or ditched. No big deal.
