Marcab Confederacy Uniform

If you don't know (or don't read my sig), I'm working on a Marcab Uniform..
I have it basicly fleshed out except for "medals" (red fabric, cardboard, tinfoil), some "patches" (black fabric drawn on with silver sharpie)..

What does everyone think?
It is: U.S. pot helmet painted black, East German Panzer officer dress uniform (black with silver shoulder boards), black belt with silver buckle, compass pouch colored black, "laser pistol" that makes sounds and lights up, black rubber gloves, black pants and black U.S. Vietnam era combat boots.

Opinions? Anything to add? I feel right now it represents the "totalian regieme" aspect but not quite the lulz-ish aspect.

Also, if anyone has an extra mask and would be willing to let me use it or sell one to me, that would be great. Probably also look better then my torn up protest red bandana.

Matter of opinion here, but It looks good for now.

What I would say it needs some colors. Strictly speaking, add some green and purple, and maybe go for a cape. Gotta draw away from its origins as a military uniform, but dazle it up with colors.

If you have a "Yardage Town" nearby, go to the section wear they have the braided rope cloth, and you can cut yourself some lengths. Green Black, Purple Gold, hell try a rainbow.

Go to the bike shop and by some of those velcro reflectors for the ankles and wrists, very easy to make it look snappy.

Add a shoulder guard/paldron like this one

do not under any circustances make an armband, it can be easily allured to a ZOMGFAXCISTS!

Yes, colors are a good idea. Braided cloth would be a nice addition... I'll pick some up next time I find a Yardage Town. Not sure I'll be able to get some in time.

A red arm band is a bad idea in all cases. I've been accused of being a Nazi when wearing one with Marxist phrases written on it while also donned in a fully patched up Soviet uniform carrying a flag.

There is a cheap way to make instant braids just using one of those yarn rolls and your hand. PM if you want me to explain it step by step

for medals/patches you could also use craft foam sheets instead of foil. (you can get them at any craft store for cheap.) they hold up pretty well and you can do cooler designs on them than you can with foil.

most craft stores also sell clear plastic pin/button cases where you can put your own picture in. (I have a few of these for my sea arrrrgh jacket myself.) they're a dollar or so a piece, depending on the size you're getting. (If anybody wants examples of either I could upload some pics.)

but yes, the outfit needs to be more lulzy, the state that it's in now would definetely be intimidating and might even scare people off. Lots of neat images for badge/flag/etc designs have been posted on enturb that would be good to add to the costume and lighten it up a bit. And if you can't get a mask, maybe just paint the mask design on the scarf and do that instead.

Also, be VERY careful with fake gun. Carrying anything that even barely resembles a weapon in public is a bad idea, especially in downtown. (the only exception to this rule typically being during comic con week.) Could just be a better idea to leave it at home all together, really.

OK, Scarlet, I'm going to make some aiguillette and bandoliers out of some yarn. Really cheap and effective, I can make them more colors than Davey's fluffed Salad of BS.

If you have some extra clothes pins, these will work pretty well, I plan to distribute some to the wog squad as well.

Now then I'm going to make some Solid colors, as well as mixed color ones and I will make black and green ones as well as some multi color ones

They wont come out like this, but you get the idea

I can wear psuedo full gear.. Going to wear my jacket like a suit (plus dress shirt and tie) as it was for the flash raid, but if you do I may also put on my overbelt, gloves, helmet and one medal I made (a gold pirate one).

I am making ones of all colors of the rain bow and then some. I think I will use some of the multicolor die ones for some while buying some solid colors.

Oh Excellent, they are really easy to make too! I just have not grasped how to make a rug out of it yet.

Completed 4 Anon green ones, and one special one for Xenu. Will work on Fail Van Yellow and Tie red and Anon black and Mudkipz blue soem mroe for tommorrow.
